> VILLA PELLEGRINI CIPOLLA (XVIII sec) - on Garda Lake

Set between the banks of Lake Garda and the slopes of Monte Baldo, Villa Pellegrini Cipolla is a gem of the late Verona Illuminism. Built in 1760 by architect Ignazio Pellegrini, it has hosted many illustrious people. In the 18th century, during the battle of Rivoli, it was home to Napoleon Bonaparte. Luigi Einaudi, president of the Italian Republic often rested in its rooms and its garden during his visits to Verona.
The main hall of the villa (salone dei Biliardi), decorated with beautiful frescos on the two main walls, made more precious thanks to the statues of Hercules, Minerva, Mars and Diana, and crowned by Spring in human form that flutters on the big ceiling. The villa and the park are two seperate bodies that share the same soul. The layout of the garden, which connects the square of the town of Castion to the Villa, is influenced by the European experiences of the 18th century and in particular that of Versailles. The bushes and the age-old trees guarantee the necessary privacy for such meetings and events.
